Great Artists Two with Tim Marlow

Great Artists Two with Tim Marlow is an art documentary series presented by Tim Marlow, exploring the lives and works of some of the most influential artists of the last 500 years of Western art. The artists covered in the series include Piero della Francesca, Holbein, Caravaggio, Stubbs, Goya, David, Constable, Delacroix, Whistler, Rodin, Cassatt, and Schiele. The series aired in 2003 consists of 12 episodes, each of which takes a fresh look at the artists, their work and the world in which they lived.

Episode 01 - Piero della Francesca
Piero della Francesca (1415-1492) was an Italian artist of the Early Renaissance. This episode looks at the life and work of the artist.

Episode 02 - Hans Holbein the Younger
Hans Holbein the Younger (1497-1543) was a German artist and printmaker who worked in a Northern Renaissance style. He is best known as one of the greatest portraitists of the 16th century.

Episode 03 - Caravaggio
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610) was an Italian Baroque painter. This episode looks at the life, work and influence of the artist.

Episode 04 - George Stubbs
George Stubbs (1724-1806) was an English painter, best known for his paintings of horses and other exotic animals.

Episode 05 - Francisco de Goya
Francisco Jose de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828) was a court painter to the Spanish royal family and famous for works such as The Third of May 1808.

Episode 06 - Jacques-Louis David
Jacques-Louis David (1748-1825) was a highly influential French painter in the Neoclassical style, considered to be the preeminent painter of the era.

Episode 07 - John Constable
John Constable (1776-1837) was an English Romantic painter, famous for his landscape paintings such as Dedham Vale and The Hay Wain.

Episode 08 - Eugene Delacroix
Ferdinand Victor Eugene Delacroix (1798-1863) was a French Romantic artist. This episode looks at the life and works of Eugene Delacroix.

Episode 09 - James Abbott Whistler
James Abbott McNeill Whistler (1834-1903) was an American-born and British-based painter. His famous paintings include 'Whistler's Mother'.

Episode 10 - Auguste Rodin
Francois-Auguste-Rene Rodin (1840-1917) was a French sculptor famous for sculptures such as The Thinker and The Kiss.

Episode 11 - Mary Cassatt
Mary Stevenson Cassatt (1844-1926) was an American painter and printmaker. This episode looks at the life and works of Mary Cassatt.

Episode 12 - Egon Schiele
Egon Schiele (1890-1918) was an Austrian painter, famed for his expressionist portrait work.
