Richard Hammond's Engineering Connections

Richard Hammond's Engineering Connections is a documentary series presented by Richard Hammond, looking at how engineers and designers use historic inventions and clues from the natural world in ingenious ways to develop new buildings and machines. The series consists of four episodes, each of which examines the engineering connections behind the world's most advanced structures: the Airbus A380, the world's biggest passenger jet; the Taipei 101 tower, built on top of a seismic fault line and in a typhoon hotspot; the Keck Observatory, which has been further into the universe than any other telescope on Earth; and the Troll A gas platform, the largest object ever moved by man across the surface of the Earth.
