Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a Serbian-American inventor, mechanical engineer, and electrical engineer. He was an important contributor to the birth of commercial electricity, and is best known for developing the modern alternating current (AC) electrical supply system. His many revolutionary developments in the field of electromagnetism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries were based on the theories of electromagnetic technology discovered by Michael Faraday. Tesla's patents and theoretical work also formed the basis of wireless communication and the radio. (from

Tesla - Master of Lightning

This presents an overview of the life and work of Nikola Tesla who was an inventor, mechanical engineer and electrical engineer; his early years in Europe; his life in America; and legacy after his death. He developed many things and patented hundreds of inventions in electrical technologies like alternating current (AC) power system, induction motor, fluorescent light, the basis for radio and television, and remote radio-control.

Nikola Tesla - The Genius Who Lit the World

This program portraits Nikola Tesla as a great inventor and engineer and scientist. He came to America to harness Niagara falls to generate electric power. And there he invented numerous things in electrical engineering: alternating current (AC) power system, induction motor, fluorescent light, the laser beam, wireless communications, and remote radio-control. Some of his inventions or ideas were and are still far ahead of the time in terms of realization.
