This is a small collection of free software websites including web browser, media player, and free office suite such as Google Docs and OpenOffice. All of them have been used or being used by us partially or fully. We link to a lot of educational and informative websites, which provides audio and video content. To watch those content properly on your PC, you may install some multimedia player software listed here.
Web Browser
Google Chrome is a web browser developed by Google, and its source code is available from Chromium website. It features on fast web-browsing, safety with warning against attempt to visit harmful website, and simplicity of user interface.
Safari is a web browser developed by Apple Inc., and is default browser for Mac OS X operating system. From June 11, 2007, it supports Microsoft Windows operating system-Windows XP and Windows Vista. It features simple user interface, fast and easy-to-use web browsing.
Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser. It features are on fast web-browsing, integrated Google search, simplified privacy controls, pop-up blocking, and so on.
Windows Internet Explorer(IE) is the most widely used web browser in the world, which is included as part of the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems.
Opera is a web browser developed by the Opera Software company. It features fast web browsing, integrated Google search, and Search Shortcuts which enables users to type a query directly into the address bar.
Media Player
Real Player plays a number of multimedia formats including MP3, MPEG-4, QuickTime, Windows Media, and more. And it supports various operation systems: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Unix, Palm OS, Windows Mobile, and Symbian OS.
DivX Player (the latest version, DivX 7) plays DivX video which ends in ".divx" and ".avi", and HD H.264 video which ends in ".mkv". In addition, it supports AAC and MP3 audio.
Apple QuickTime Player plays various digital video, media clips, sound, text, animation, music, and interactive panoramic images. And it supports Mac OS and Microsoft Windows OS.
Apple iTunes is a free software of a digital media player application, used for playing and organizing digital music and video files. It supports Mac OS X, Windows XP and Windows Vista.
GOM Player is a free multimedia player with popular video and audio codecs built-in. GOM Player supports file formats such as AVI, DAT, MPEG, DivX, XviD, WMV, ASF.
VLC Media Player is an open-source multimedia framework and player. This player supports most audio and video formats including MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, DivX, MP3, OGG, and AAC.

Google Docs is a Web-based office suite supporting word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation application. It supports different file formats: .pdf, OpenDocument format, .doc, .xls, .txt, etc. The application is very handy when a group of people share and collaborate online.
OpenOffice supports OpenDocument Format (ODF) for data interchange as its default file format and provides good Microsoft Office interoperability. This software consists of several components: Writer (a word processor), Calc (a spread sheet), Impress (a presentation program), Base (a database program), Draw (A vector graphics editor), and Math (a mathematical formulae editor).
PrimoPDF is a free software for creating industry-standard PDF files from files in different file formats such as MS word file. It supports a user-friendly interface that enables printing to PDF from virtually any Windows application.
