Body Story

Body Story is a Discovery Channel documentary series about the human body and the biological processes it undergoes during distinct life events. The series consists of seven episodes which show how our bodies cope with major health events. The series tells of how the body deals with a growing fetus, and how the body repairs itself after an injury. Body story unravels the mysteries of the two most important organs in the human body - the brain and the heart. And the program looks at dramatic physiological transformation that occur during puberty through two young teens, and how the human body works to gain control of itself when faced with new situations. And it also show how the force of impact damages the delicate internal structures of our bodies and how doctors work to repair the injuries.

Go inside the bodies of two women whose natural systems each must deal with foreign organisms trying to control its host: a flu virus and a growing fetus. The body's reaction to and changes from each "invader" are truly remarkable.

Episode 2 - Breaking Down
An 11-year-old girl with a broken arm and an 87-year-old man vividly illustrate the differences in the way a young body heals itself and the way an old one struggles.

Episode 3 - The Beast Within
This episode unravels the mysteries of the two most important organs in the human body - the brain and the heart.

Episode 4 - Teen Dreams
This episode looks at dramatic physiological transformation that occur during puberty through two young teens, Darren and Natalie - ordinary adolescents entering an extraordinary time.

Episode 5 - Crash
This episode show how the force of impact damages the delicate internal structures of our bodies and how doctors work to repair the injuries.

Episode 6 - Spreading Menace
This episode investigates the inner workings of the human body under stress, following the trail of the invading microbes through the digestive system from the mouth to the lower intestine.

Episode 7 - Out of Control
This episode looks at how the human body works to gain control of itself when faced with new situations.
