Space (BBC Documentary)
Space (Hyperspace in the United States) is a BBC documentary series, hosted and narrated by Sam Neill, about a study of the Universe. The series consists of six episodes explaining the extraordinary phenomena that form the Universe: Star Stuff; Staying Alive; Black Holes; Are We Alone?; New Worlds; and Boldly Go. The first episode Star Stuff explains the origin of the Universe, the solar system and life on Earth. Staying Alive shows how lucky the existence of planet Earth is and how it could be destroyed by comets and asteroids. The third episode looks at the destructive force of Black Holes. The fourth episode explains the possibilities of extraterrestrial life. New Worlds looks at the idea of terraforming making other planets our home in preparation for the death of Sun. The last episode Boldly Go is about humanity's journey into far space and introduces ion propulsion and solar sails as effective means of spacecraft propulsion.
