Around the World in 80 Faiths is a BBC documentary series presented by Anglican vicar Pete Owen Jones, exploring 80 different faiths from around the world. The series consists of eight episodes, each of which explores faiths in a region in the world: Australasia, Far East, Africa, Middle East, India, USA, Latin America, and Europe. Traveling to the regions, witnessing various local cultures and at time taking part in rites, Pete Owen Jones shows faith is expressed in a rich diversity of rituals, in big and small religions, in denominations, in sects and in cults, in tribal faiths and in new religious movements.

Pete Owen Jones explores 10 different faiths in Australasia and the Pacific Ring of Fire, including Aboriginal Dreaming performed by the Aborigines, Australia and a sword-stabbing ritual performed by the Bugis people of Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Episode 2 - The Far East
Pete Owen Jones travels to the Far East and encounters the exotic and inscrutable religions of the region, from anarchic Buddhist Naked Man and Shinto Fire festivals in Japan to enlightening Taoist monks in the mountains of China.

Episode 3 - Africa
Pete Owen Jones explores 10 different faiths in Africa, including the ancient practice of voodoo in Benin, a trance dance performed by San Bushmen, Botswana - and Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity.

Episode 4 - The Middle East
In this episode, Pete Owen Jones travels to some countries in the Middle East including Israel, Syria, Turkey and Iraq, and explores 9 different faiths of the region.

Episode 5 - United States of America
In this episode, Pete Owen Jones explores 10 different faiths in the United States of America, including serpent handling, Navajo sweat lodge, Mormonism, Summum, and Burning Man Festival.

Episode 6 - The Indian Subcontinent
Pete Owen Jones journeys from the Nepalese Himalayas to the south of India to make sense of the mystery of Indian religions, including the transmigration of the soul, karma, the pantheon of gods and the high regard for gurus.

Episode 7 - Latin America
Pete Owen Jones explores 10 different faiths in Latin America. He smokes cigars with Saint Death in Mexico, ventures deep into a Bolivian mine to meet a terrifying god of the underworld, etc.

Episode 8 - Europe
In this final episode, Pete Owen Jones explores different faiths in Europe. He finds a series of unexpected and surprising rituals and sects - huge underground New Age temples in Italy, shamans in Norway, and Europe's only Buddhist republic.
